You do not need a hotel reservation to visit Flamingo Beach. Renaissance Island sells a limited number of day passes to non guests each day, so you can see the flamingos without booking a room, though seats go quickly in high season.
What day pass holders get
Day visitors get the same beach amenities as resort guests: chairs, umbrellas, restrooms, and round trip transportation on the roughly ten minute boat ride. The main difference is you'll pay for food and drinks directly rather than charging them to a room.
Booking a pass
Call the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino directly, since passes aren't sold online. The resort limits day passes to around 30 to 40 per day, so calling two to three weeks ahead is a good idea during December through April.
Best time to try for a pass
Weekdays in the shoulder season, roughly May through July and September through November, offer the best odds and the smallest crowds. Morning arrivals also tend to catch the flamingos at their most active.
