The only way to reach Renaissance Island is the resort's private water taxi, reserved for Renaissance guests and a limited number of day pass holders. There's no public dock, ferry, or walking path onto the island.
Resort guests vs. day passes
Resort guests board with just a room key and enjoy unlimited crossings for the length of their stay. Day passes, when available, cost $125 to $150 and include round trip transportation, but they're released with no advance notice and tend to sell out within minutes.
The water taxi itself
Boats leave from the marina behind the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino roughly every 15 minutes from 7 AM to 7 PM, and the crossing takes about ten minutes. It's the only approved transportation method onto the island.
If you can't get on the island
The Butterfly Farm and the Aruba Ostrich Farm both offer reliable flamingo and wildlife viewing without the uncertainty of a Renaissance Island day pass, and wild flamingos occasionally turn up near Spanish Lagoon on the island's south coast.
